1990's

This period saw the expansion of facilities, product and services not previously anticipated. The early 90s was the beginning of the Communications era for TE(PNG). It began with UHF / VHF radios being supplied for the South Pacific Games in 1991 in Port Moresby and Lae. The company still provides Repeater services in Port Moresby, Lae and Madang.

Shortly thereafter saw the introduction of Barrett HF radios and an ever growing range of Communications products – which now include Garmin , GME , Icom,Iridium, RFI , RFS , Thrane and Thrane and Thuraya. The company was the successful tenderer for an AusAid project incorporating the use of in excess of 1200 HF Systems in the remote regions of PNG for the Dept of Health Hospitals, Aid Posts and Health Centres. A significant amount of Solar equipment was used on this and other projects. TE(PNG) also supplied , installed and maintained the Toa Public Address system throughout the South Pacific Games. The company has since become synonymous with Communication Systems (Land Mobile, Marine and Satellite) and Public address systems in PNG.

As part of its corporate identity, TE(PNG) continues to ensure that it is able to adequately service the products which it markets. To this end , the company maintains a Technical workshop specifically to service and repair Electronics products sold by the company. Its staff are well trained and backed by personnel with appropriate technical expertise. Commercial Catering Equipment had also become a prime product group with supply to Mining Companies , major Hotels and numerous Bakeries and Fast food outlets.

During this decade , it was not only product which expanded. In the early part of this period , a new Showroom , Office and Warehouse facility was constructed at Cameron Road Waigani. By the mid 90s a similar facility was built at Laurabada Avenue in Lae. Since then the companies product ranges and services continue to grow at a rapid rate. Within 10 years it was obvious that the Port Moresby showroom and office space needed to expand. Although taking some time to complete , the company now has a modern showroom, improved office space and a well equipped technical workshop – and the customer base continues to expand. The Lae branch has also expanded its Showroom facility.
